Surface Repair

It’s inevitable that there will be accidents given the hectic nature of a construction site and the frequently lengthy amount of time it takes to finish major projects.

These accidents could involve broken doors or doorframes, chipped bathroom vanities, scratched sideboards, or anything else.

The continual movement of workers, who
frequently carry heavy loads of equipment and materials, makes cosmetic surface
damage nearly inevitable in a busy work environment.

How I Went From Unemployed to Earning Over $100 an Hour

I started as a carpenter and DIY enthusiast, but that whole career path came crashing down on me when I was injured on the job. With a broken collar bone, wrist, and AC joint, my 20 years of experience in carpentry meant nothing.

Unable to work for over a year, I couldn’t find a job that paid what I used to make. But then I luckily stumbled onto a new opportunity (and since you’re here, you lucked into it too!). I landed a job learning hard surface repair from experienced experts.

I learned the best methods by shadowing a hard surface repair technician. I developed my skills. I discovered how valuable my new skill was. Then, I decided I could make more money just by selling these services myself.

Now I earn more in a week than I would earn in a month at my old position….without any stress, micromanaging bosses, or unsatisfied customers. I can make over $100 an hour with satisfied customers every time. Plus, there’s never a shortage of people clamoring to hire me for my professional skill.

My business partner Greg had a similar experience, leaving his 12-hour shifts at a railway job to make more money with a highly valuable ability. Together, we offer all the expertise, knowledge, and background to teach everything there is to know about surface repair.

For the first time ever, we are unleashing all the industry secrets and step-by-step videos to beautify your own home or achieve self-employed freedom, for one low price.

As Repair Specialists

we come into contact with a staggering variety of surfaces and surface types.

In response, I’d go so far as to say that virtually any interior or exterior surface, whether plastic, metal, ceramic or enamel, stone, brick, marble, glass, or wood, can be repaired.

Given the wide variety of construction materials used on construction sites, it’s safe to say that the opportunities for repair are numerous.

Jobs in which we examine a damaged surface and conclude, “That can’t be repaired,” are extremely rare. The simple truth is that the vast majority of them can be repaired, potentially saving thousands of pounds.

Cost Savings of Repair

The cost savings of repair is an important factor to consider. It is almost always more expensive to replace an object than to repair it.

According to industry statistics, every £1 spent on repair saves $3 in replacement.

Even with those savings, repair may appear to be a costly business when labour costs are considered. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

All repair technicians are highly trained and capable of repairing a wide variety of surfaces, eliminating the need for additional workers such as tilers, plasterers, plumbers, and electricians.

Repairing damaged items such as sinks, windows, work surfaces, fitted furniture, or sanitary-ware eliminates the need to repair or replace adjacent plasterwork, tiles, or other substrates.

While many of those trades are available on construction sites, using them for repair diverts much-needed resources away from their primary task – actual construction.

Recalling plasterers and plumbers to jobs after accidental damage can be seen as a waste of their time, taking them away from their primary role where their skills are most needed.

The majority of repairs take about two hours to complete, and getting multiple repairs done at once is the most cost-effective way to use repair services. Using specialized surface repair means that multiple repairs can be completed without the need for multiple trades, saving time and resources.

Environment Friendly

In 2017, we saved 3,474 tonnes of waste from landfill, an increase of 17% over 2016.

Repairing something saves landfill space, which is becoming increasingly important as businesses strive to meet sustainability goals and promote environmentally friendly policies.

Never assume that something is irreparable. The opportunity for repair exists unless it is structurally damaged, shattered beyond recognition, or ground into dust.

Even if the job appears to be large, it is usually a much cheaper and more environmentally friendly alternative to a complete replacement.

Skilled Technicians

Repair technicians are also very skilled at working in-situ, which means that disruption is kept to a minimum as they adapt to working around busy construction sites without impeding other workers.

With CSCS cards becoming increasingly important on construction sites, particularly those run by major contractors, most repair technicians will be required to show one to demonstrate their expertise.

We recently launched an NVQ in surface repair, an industry first, which allows our finishers to apply for a CSCS Skilled Worker card as well as one specific to our trade.

Cosmetic repair employs fine finishing techniques that originated in the automotive industry but are also found in French polishing.

Finishers use a wide range of proprietary fillers, hardeners, polishes, and colours to repair surfaces damaged by scratches, chips, holes, gouges, splits, cracks, discoloration, or graffiti.

To repair damage to a high standard, real craftsmanship is required, but once these skills are mastered, virtually any type of damage can be repaired.

Surface repair should be used by construction managers if they aren’t already.
